The Joshua Shneider Love Speaks Orchestra at Roulette today

27 Jan

New York is an incredible city, constantly bursting with exciting shows so that it can sometimes be a little challenging to decide whom to go and listen to. Today, for instance, The Joshua Shneider Loves Speaks Orchestra, a 19 piece ensemble, will be performing at the Brooklyn based club Roulette at 5pm (http://roulette.org/events/the-joshua-shneider-love-speaks-orchestra-one-hour-to-madness-and-joy/). Matthew Willis will be one of the saxophone players. It should be a treat!

This week in New York City, two fine pianists: Fabian Almazan and Aaron Diehl

16 Jan

This week, if you want to hear good music, check out Birdland (http://www.birdlandjazz.com/), and Dizzy’s: two young and highly talented pianists (who are also fun to be around) will be performing. Pianist Fabian Almazan (http://www.fabianalmazan.com/home.html) is performing with the Terrence Blanchard quintet (and by the way, one of Fabian’s tunes was recently chosen for the TV series Treme! How cool is that?!) and pianist Aaron Diehl (http://www.aarondiehl.com/biography.html) will be playing at Dizzy’s (http://jalc.org/dizzys) the music of pianist, composer and arranger John Aaron Lewis (http://jalc.org/dizzys/events/event/av-124946). Lewis passed in 2001 and Diehl will be playing his music with vibraphonist Warren Wolf, drummer Rodney Green and bass player David Wong. Come and listen to beautiful tunes and support the artists!
